2008 Harrogate in Bloom special project
Tate House is a residential home run by the RNIB and is located adjacent to the busy Wetherby Road in Harrrogate. Many of the Tate House residents, including those with a visual impairment or dual sensory loss, are elderly and the large garden at the back provides them with a secure environment to walk around, exercise and enjoy the sunshine.
Unfortunately the home lost its gardener a few years ago and although the lawns are kept mown, some parts of the garden are looking a little neglected.

Harrogate in Bloom has been working on this project for the last year and, with the help of a great many people, installed three large planters with sensory plants in March.

"The Tidy Gardens team has really started to turn things around here at Tate House. Rod and the Tidy Gardens team are so hardworking and they have had a major impact on the condition of the garden." John Baguley, RNIB
And three months later, it's all looking good....

At the 2008 Harrogate Spring Flower Show (24 – 27 April) Harrogate in Bloom hosted a champagne breakfast to raise money for the ongoing maintenance of the garden and the Tidy Gardens Group has taken on the regular maintenance contact.
