2026 Children's bed in the Valley Gardens

On 14th July, Poppy Garbutt, winner of the 2025 Children's Art Competition, met with Pam Grant, President of Harrogate in Bloom, and Tim Walker, gardener in the Valley Gardens, to see her design " 250 years of the USA" which was planted up in June to make a stunning bed at the entrance to our beautiful gardens.
In 2025, Poppy Garbutt from Willow Tree School won the Harrogate in Bloom Children's Art Competition which was to produce a design on the theme of "250 years since the signing of the USA Declaration of Independence’ for the circular flower bed at the entrance to the Valley Garden. The theme was chosen to recognise the long-established links between Harrogate and the USA.
The bed was planted up to Poppy's design in June and Poppy met up with Pam Grant, President of Harrogate in Bloom, and Tim, one of the gardeners who planted the design, to celebrate her success and to see how beautiful the bed looks now.
