Britain in Bloom judges visit Harrogate
11 August
2025
Lovely weather accompanied the Britain in Bloom judges, Bendan Mowforth and Andrew Jackson, on their visit to Harrogate. Our town looked absolutely fabulous and had a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere.
The judges visited Horticap, Harlow Hill Allotments, Rossett Acre Primary School, Rossett Local Nature Reserve, the Town Centre and the Valley Gardens, finishing with lunch at the West Park Heritage Centre. Everyone worked hard to demonstrate our community spirit and our endeavours to make our town look blooming marvellous! Well done everyone!
The criteria for the judging cover three elements - Horticulture, Environment and Community. Our chosen venues were able to show how we meet all these requirements.
Our competitors in the small city/city category are Aberdeen, Derry, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Chorley, Shrewsbury, Torquay and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets We hope for a very good outcome when the results are announced on 31st October at the Britain in Bloom Awards in Brighton.
