24 January
2025
In 2025 Harrogate will once again be representing Yorkshire in Bloom in the RHS Britain in Bloom Competition in the UK Finals in the Small City & City category to be judged between 28 July - 15 August 2025.
Our beautiful town has an illustrious history of winning gold medals in both Yorkshire and Britain in Bloom and is a double winner of Europe in Bloom.
Harrogate In Bloom encompasses numerous groups of all ages within the town who all contribute to this success through their efforts. Whilst most people will be aware of the much treasured Valley Gardens, our own RHS at Harlow Carr and the wide sweep of Harrogate’s famous Stray, there are many other areas where passionate horticulturists contribute a huge amount to our reputation as a fabulous floral town.
From wildflower areas benefitting those attending the hospital to the sensory garden in the town centre, from Hookstone Woods to keenly tended allotments and Stonefall Cemetery to private gardens, Harrogate’s gardeners care for innumerable areas.
Each year Harrogate In Bloom engages with local schoolchildren by running a competition to design a flower bed around a significant theme. Hotels and shops are also encouraged to compete to be the town’s floral best. Harrogate Bus Company will be helping to spread the news about The Power of the Flower.
With the ever increasing evidence that exposure to the power of plants and open green spaces is hugely beneficial to health and well being Harrogate In Bloom’s continued mission is to make Harrogate as green, gorgeous and blooming beautiful as possible… while going for GOLD again.
Our competitors this year will be Aberdeen Communities Together, Chorley in Bloom, Derry,
London Borough of Tower Hamlets, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Shrewsbury in Bloom, Torquay in Bloom.
